Auto Detect

In this chapter we describe the auto detect feature of Trading Conceiver, which automatically recognizes the historical file format.

Auto Detect the Format

As stated in previous chapters, it doesn't exist a standard for the historical file. However Trading Conceiver can automatically recognize most of them correctly. So we suggest you try this option first. It is the easiest on your part and most of the times works accurately.
How to Activate the Auto Detect
The Auto Detect Checkbox
Load Pane A first method has been described in a previous chapter, and consists of selecting the checkbox
Auto-detect the format upon loading a new file
in the Load file tab.
The Auto Detect Button
The Auto Detect Button An alternative is to expressly click the button
  Auto detect
Check the Results
Trading Conceiver tries its best to detect the format, but you must check whether it interpreted it correctly. Trading Conceiver gives you a lot of feedback. In the next chapters how to check the correctness of the parsed format will be described in details. For now, suffice it to say that errors are reported with a red color and warnings with a yellow color. Errors must be corrected by hand. Warnings might be fine; check out the Inconsistencies pane to see what Trading Conceiver is considering worth mentioning. If necessary, correct the warnings by hand, too. If you don't see any red or yellow, it means that probably everything ran smoothly. Nonetheless, you must control carefully if the interpretation is appropriate. In particular, look at the Parsed file pane.
Saving the Format
If the auto-detect feature interpreted the file correctly, you don't need to save the format, because it means the auto-detect routine can deal with data like this. If, on the contrary, you started from the results of the auto-detect, but had to make some trimming over the parsing controls, you had better save the format for future use.
Accept the Format
Accept the Format The button
  OK
is enabled if there are no severe errors and there is a valid license installed. When you are sure the format has been interpreted correctly, press the OK button. You are now ready to use the file.
