graphical interface and see when to go long, short or liquidate.

Quick Start

Learn how to quickly use the Composer in Trading Conceiver, in order to build your own trading system.

Quick Start
1. Trade Only at Close
In the pane:
  When to trade
select the radio button
Only at close (consider only close)
This way the trading is performed only at close and not also intradaily. It is much easier, but less powerful, this way.
2. Distinguish Liquidate Long and Short
In the pane:
  Liquidate
select the checkbox
  Distinguish long / short
This way you can define separately when to liquidate a long position and a short position. The checkbox
Liquidate if not long nor short
must be deselected in order to do that.
3. Congruency Considering Only Close
In the pane:
  Make congruent in tab
select the checkbox
  Considering only close
This way you consider only close. Again, this is the easier way.
4. The Trailing Stop Loss Follows the Close Price
In the pane:
  Trailing stop loss follows
select the radio button
  Close
This way the price considered for calculating the trailing stop loss is the close, as you can find in literature.
5. Strip the First Trade
In the pane:
  First trade
select the checkbox
  Strip first trade
This way the first trade is deleted, because it can happen that boundary conditions to be different on the very first trade, resulting in unexpected behavior.
6. Select the Long Tab
Select the tab:
  Long
This way you can define when to enter a long position.
7. Select an Elementary Trading Algorithms
Select the Elementary Trading Algorithms In the Tree of the Composer, select one of the elementary trading algorithms provided. You must select the algorithm from one of the following branches of the tree:
  • Technical indicators based
  • Patterns
  • Candlesticks
8. Look at the Description
Take a look at the description, to review its fundamental characteristics.
9. Insert the Algorithm in One Slot
Press one of the Select buttons to actually put the selected algorithm in the correspondent slot.
10. Select a Parameter to Change It
Select a Parameter to Change It Through the combobox, select one of the input parameters in order to change its value from its default one. This way, you can trim the algorithm.
11. Set the Parameter Value
Through the spinner, select the value of your choice for the input parameter.
12. Check the Parameters
Check the Parameters Check the input parameters values in the text field to make sure they are as desired.
13. Don't Modify the Elementary Algorithm
For this quick start, make sure all the following checkboxes are unselected:
  • NOT
  • Step
  • Extend
This way you don't modify the elementary algorithm and keep it as it is.
14. Select Other Elementary Trading Algorithms
Repeat steps 7 through 13 as many times as necessary, to select other elementary trading algorithms you want to include.
15. Combine the Elementary Trading Algorithms
Select the logical operator between the elementary trading algorithms you selected in order to combine them.
16. Select the Priority Parentheses
Select the parentheses appropriately to specify the priority, or order, in which the logical operators are calculated.
17. Tabs Short and Liquidate
Tabs Short and Liquidate Repeat steps 7 through 16 for the tabs:
  • Short
  • Liquidate long
  • Liquidate short
You don't need to fill in all of them; just the ones required by your trading system.
18. Select a Stop Loss
Select a Stop Loss If you want to set a stop loss, select the tab
  Stop loss
Now repeat steps 7 through 16, but this time use only the first two slots, identified by the titled bordered pane
  Stop Loss
Select a Stop Loss You must select the stop loss algorithms from the
  Stop loss
branch of the Tree.
The checkbox
  Trailing
is selected by default. Leave it selected. This way the stop loss will be trailing.
19. Select a Take Profit
Select a Take Profit If you want to set a take profit, select the tab
  Take profit
Now repeat steps 7 through 16, but this time use only the first two slots, identified by the titled bordered pane
  Take Profit
Select a Take Profit You must select the take profit algorithms from the
  Take profit
branch of the Tree.
20. Save the Configuration
Press the Save button to save this configuration. You can recall it later on by pressing the Load button.
21. Select the Outputs
Run In the main tool-bar, select the checkboxes
  • Charts
  • Table
