Load an Historical File

In this chapter we describe how to load, i.e. open or import, a file containing historical data in Trading Conceiver.

Load Menu and Toolbar Button

Load Menu and Toolbar Button To load a file containing the historical data, either select the menu
  File → Load historical data
or click the homonymous icon in the tool bar.
File chooser A file chooser appears. Select the file and confirm with Open.

is selected automatically. However, if you changed your mind and want to choose another file, select the tab

the file chooser appears again.
File Name
The whole file name with the directory is put in the text field. It is also put in the tooltip of the text field, so that if it is longer than the text field itself, the whole file name is still visible. An alternative to see the entire name if it is longer than the text field is to click in the text field and move the cursor. The file name without the directory is also put in a label below the text field.
The Auto-Detect Checkbox
If the checkbox
  Auto-detect the format upon loading a new file
is selected, upon loading the file Trading Conceiver tries to auto-detect the file format. If it is unselected, the file is interpreted according to the settings in the Format tab.
